I grew up in Wasilla, AK, as an Army brat. While I haven't lived in Alaska my entire life, I still consider myself an Alaskan, because I've spent 21 years in this great state of ours. I've always been into the outdoors, and staying active. I played football, wrestled, ran track & field, and powerlifted while in high school, and was exposed to the benefits of therapeutic massage as a junior in high school. After feeling the benefits, I figured that I could do that, too, so I just started working on family and friends-just the typical shoulders/back/neck work. The difference was that I was great at it-I was always finding and releasing tension from everyone I worked on. I ignored it for a while-I didn't know where to find massage jobs at that time. I moved back to Alaska in 2006 for a fresh start, but was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome shortly after moving here. I was still working on family and friends, and now, people were telling me that I should go into massage, so I started looking at the different schools nearby. I chose Alaska Career College after comparing the two programs in the state. ACC offered a longer program, and paid for the national exam.
While I've been at several different locations, I have always run a mobile business, as well. I have taken continuing education into Orthopedic massage, deep tissue, and have hands-on knowledge of prenatal, trigger point, sports, ART/MRT, and acupressure modalities.
